A phone camera can be used as a webcam if the following steps are taken. This is not going to be a tutorial on how to take a picture but more of a guide in how to use the photo mode on your phone.

- Now view what you just took in the Gallery. In some cases this may not work and you need to go back into Camera Mode before deleting it from there. If that is the case go back into Camera Mode, start over and follow through with these steps again.

This was a guide on how to use the photo mode on your phone.

- This will not work with every phone and it has worked for me only with certain phone models.

- It will also only work if you are using your phone's camera as a webcam, not just to take photos.

- The video quality is not great but should be enough for Skype or an interview.

So, you want to set up your cellphone as a webcam. That's great! It'll be an excellent way to make video calls, and you don't have to worry about the camera or the connection being faulty.

The Nikon D3500 is a lightweight DSLR camera that doesn’t skimp on the essentials. It’s an entry-level model, but it has many of the same advanced features as its more expensive counterparts—including a 24.2 MP CMOS sensor and 3″ touchscreen LCD monitor. The D3500 shoots Full HD 1080p and 720p video with stereo sound, and it can record bursts at 5 fps. The camera also has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and an 11-point autofocus system.

For the record, the program in question is called "CamScanner on Yahoo! Messenger" (or "Camsn on YM") and it's not a new program at all - I've been using it since Dec. 2007, when I first got this camera-like mobile phone . It's also free and supported by Yahoo!.

4) A connected computer, tablet or smartphone.

5) The USB cable that came with your phone.

6) A small micro-USB to USB adaptor (if necessary).

7) Access to the internet and an email account. This can be your mobile service, home broadband, or a public place.

8) Patience. It's not exactly rocket science but it can be fiddly sometimes!

Step 1: Install the app on your Android or iOS device and download Chromecast/Apple TV software from relevant app store.
